Place cloves, cinnamon, anise, vanilla, and sugar in a cezve or coffee pot.
Add ground coffee and pour in water.
Bring the mixture to a boil and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
Add syrup to the serving glass.
Strain the coffee into the serving glass.
Optional: top the coffee with whipped cream, a slice of lemon, and orange.
