Brewing method - geyser coffee maker
A moka pot, or geyser coffee maker (la moka), is a type of coffee machine consisting of two connected chambers. The pressure of the steam from the lower chamber displaces hot water, which rises into the upper chamber through a basket containing ground coffee, resulting in a delicious and strong beverage.
Making coffee in a geyser coffee maker is a relatively simple process. However, to ensure a successful brew, it is important to follow a few general recommendations:
- Fill the lower chamber of the geyser coffee maker with cold water up to the level of the safety valve.
- Place the filter basket in the lower chamber and fill it with ground coffee, ensuring even distribution.
- Insert the upper chamber into the lower chamber and ensure that it is tightly closed.
- Place the geyser coffee maker on the hob and turn the heat up to medium.
- Observe the coffee-making process and listen for the brewing sounds.
- As soon as you hear a bubbling sound, turn off the heat and remove the geyser coffeemaker from the cooker.
- Serve the coffee hot, preferably in a preheated cup.
It is recommended that the geyser coffee maker be thoroughly cleaned after each use to avoid the accumulation of oil and coffee residue. Also, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your specific geyser coffee maker, as the brewing process may vary slightly depending on the model.
